Conservation and restoration

Our aim is to help protect nature and the environment from harmful human influences or restore them as best we can. We feel obliged to do this not only for the present generation.

Therefore, we support projects for the preservation of biodiversity and the sustainable use of nature and the environment:

  • organisations that work to protect wildlife and their habitats around the world and encourage the public, politicians and companies to treat nature responsibly, if necessary by improving laws and effective protection measures

  • projects that raise public awareness for nature conservation and enable in particular children and young people to experience the many facets of nature, so that they learn to appreciate nature's value at an early age

  • organisations that ensure that environmental problems are uncovered and that measures are taken against them

  • organisations that are committed to preserving the natural basis of life for humans, animals and plants, and are thus also dedicated to the protection of species and biotopes

  • types of agriculture which preserve the diversity of animal and plant species and protect soils and water

  • sustainable (meat-free) dietary concepts which conserve resources

  • education and research committed to the overall goal of a future in which ecology, economy and social responsibility are one, and also develops possible solutions to the imminent questions about a way of life and an economy fit for the future

  • institutions of higher education that offer sustainable degree courses or are willing to reform their existing ones

  • moorland restoration projects as well as nature-oriented, ecological and holistic forms of forest management

  • environmental initiatives aimed primarily at children and young people, to teach them how to conserve nature and treat it with respect
