About the project

The Deutschlandstipendium is a merit-based scholarship that was introduced at federal level in 2011. Since the 2013/14 winter semester, both the University of Bonn and the Bonn University Foundation have been involved in the scholarship program together with their sponsors. In addition to very good school or academic performance, extracurricular or non-university social commitment is also taken into account when selecting scholarship holders. "Half from the federal government and half from private sponsors" is the principle of the Deutschlandstipendium. Thanks to this matching system, scholarship holders receive 300 euros per month for one academic year.

The Stiftung Zukunft jetzt! also became part of the funding community in the 2020/21 winter semester. By the end of the summer semester 2023, it had financed 15 scholarships with a total funding amount of 27,000 euros (1,800 euros per year/scholarship holder). The scholarships were used exclusively for students at the University of Bonn studying nature conservation and landscape ecology.

Why we have funded

We would like to enable interested students from Germany and abroad to acquire nature conservation expertise and to critically develop nature conservation concepts against the backdrop of rapid and ongoing global change, so that they are able to develop and implement innovative solutions for nature conservation after graduation.

Education begins with curiosity.
