About the university

The university, with its two campuses in Weihenstephan near Freising and Triesdorf near Ansbach, was founded in 1971 and now offers a unique profile of green engineering courses. Under the motto "Green, innovative, practical", the courses on offer cover the natural sciences, nutrition and the environment. It ranges from high-tech to LandArt, from molecules to plants and animals, from business administration to landscape and water technology.

University of applied sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf is the only university in Germany that specializes in green engineering courses that focus on the efficient and sustainable use of natural resources.

The project came about through an article in the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Like no other university, the university of applied sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf has a range of subjects that is clearly and consistently geared towards green engineering courses. The courses on offer cover everything that has to do with nature, nutrition and the environment in the broadest sense. It ranges from scientific to artistic study, from high-tech to land art, from molecules to trees to landscapes - true to its motto:"Green, innovative, practical".

Promoting environmental protection, ecological agriculture, nature conservation and strengthening the use of renewable energies are goals that are close to our hearts. The scholarships give young people the opportunity to concentrate fully on their studies in these areas and to develop their potential without financial pressure.

As part of the Deutschlandstipendium, we are currently supporting 20 high-achieving, committed students at the University of applied sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf.

The foundation is focusing in particular on the Master's degree course in Climate Change Management with eight scholarships. Funding is also provided for prospective academics studying Renewable Energies Management, Environmental Protection and Environmental Engineering as well as Climate Neutral Energy Systems. We are also sponsoring two students on the new "Arboriculture and Urban Forest Management" course.

The university course places great emphasis on practical relevance and a sound scientific foundation. Students learn and live on the largest green campus in Germany - show gardens, experimental farms, laboratories and a biotechnology center offer excellent learning conditions.

All faculties at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf conduct interdisciplinary, international and practice-oriented research. This is why cooperation with companies, associations and institutions is cultivated and valued. The research results flow into practice, then back to the university and into the students' education.

Beaming faces at the award ceremony for the Deutschlandstipendium 2024

For the fourth year running, we are supporting 20 talented and high-achieving students who are committed to environmental and climate protection and sustainability. They learn methods for making the world more ecological, protecting natural resources such as peatlands, preserving our environment for future generations and counteracting climate change.

Every year, President Dr. Eric Veulliet presents the scholarship certificates during a ceremony to which scholarship holders, sponsors and university lecturers are invited to get to know each other and make initial contacts. The scholarship holders describe what the Deutschlandstipendium means to them and say that the scholarship amount of 300 euros per month, which is also granted in addition to the Bafög, allows them to concentrate on their studies.
