Why we fund

The initial contact with the University of Bonn came about through a tip and recommendation from Peter Wohlleben. The recommendation related specifically to a research project currently underway.
In addition, we support outstanding students through the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship to conduct pioneering research in the field of nature conservation and landscape ecology.
The foundation also funded a study trip to Sardinia for the European Agroforestry Conference in 2022.
As the founder of the foundation also has close family in Bonn and knows the university well, she has a special connection to the city of Bonn

What we fund

Studenten feiern Abschluss

Deutschlandstipendium at the University of Bonn

The Deutschlandstipendium is a merit-based scholarship that was introduced at federal level in 2011. Since the 2013/14 winter semester, both the University of Bonn and the Bonn University Foundation have been involved in the scholarship program together with their sponsors. In addition to very good school or academic performance, extracurricular or non-university social commitment is also taken into account when selecting scholarship holders. "Half from the federal government and half from private donors" is the principle behind the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship. Thanks to this matching system, the scholarship holders receive 300 euros per month for one academic year.

Bildungsreise

Agroforestry study trip

As the Stiftung Zukunft jetzt!, we want to support students in exploring new paths and deepening their knowledge in line with their interests. We do this, for example, by sponsoring study trips and conference visits. In early summer 2021, a group of students from the University of Bonn took part in the European Agroforestry Conference (EURAF) in Sardinia with funding from the Stiftung Zukunft jetzt!
